July in Taos is hot, with cool early mornings and thunderstorms late in the day. Smoke drifting across from wildfires in Arizona turn the western peaks pale shades of blue. The grass is full of wild asters, their blue echoing the hazy blue mountains perfectly. Standing in the hot field painting, I am cooled by an occasional breeze and all the wonderful blues.
