Between Bluff Utah and Mexican Hat runs the great dragon’s back of Comb Ridge, sheltering many ruins of the ancient Puebloans. On its west a primitive road runs up Comb Wash, through layers of orange, red, pink and purple earth. Above are great red or white sandstone cliffs. Here dark desert varnish on red walls reflects back the deep blue sky.
